Your Daily Review is a personal reflection tool, not a medical device. It does not replace professional medical or mental-health care.
Overview
Your Daily Review is designed for private reflection. Entries, exercise responses, and drafts are stored on your iPhone. No account or developer-run cloud sync is required, and we do not analyze what you write.
Local Storage
Your entries are stored as JSON files in the Documents directory for Your Daily Review. Each journal file and the review index use iOS complete file protection whenever they are written. Drafts, exercise responses, quick captures, pause reflections, private question-practice answers, and custom prompts are also stored in protected local files. Lightweight settings and non-text activity markers use UserDefaults.
Backups
A standard iCloud, Finder, or iTunes device backup may include data from Your Daily Review. Apple controls device backups through your settings; Your Daily Review does not run them.
iPhone Security
On an unmodified iPhone, files containing your private reflection text use iOS complete file protection. A jailbroken iPhone has weaker system protections and may let other software reach app data more easily. We do not keep a server copy of your journal entries.
What We Do Not Collect or Use
- We do not collect your entry, reflection, or exercise text.
- We do not require or create an account.
- We do not analyze your journal content.
- We do not sell your data or share your journal content with third parties.
- We do not track you across apps or sites.
In-App Purchases
Full Practice is a single one-time non-consumable purchase. There is no subscription or automatic renewal. The Apple purchase sheet shows the current price for your App Store region before you buy. The purchase is tied to your Apple Account. Apple handles payment details; we do not see them.
Export, Import, and Sharing
Review-history JSON backup and restore remain free. Full Practice adds Markdown export and summary sharing tools under Export and Backup in Settings. The Delete All Data confirmation also offers a JSON backup before deletion. You start every export and share; nothing sends in the background. An export is written to the protected temporary directory for Your Daily Review before you send it. The app removes matching older export files before a later export; iOS may also clear temporary files. The app does not send exported or shared content to us. We receive it only if you deliberately send it to support.
A JSON backup contains and restores review history only; it does not include question activity, exercises, pauses, quick entries, custom prompts, or badges.
You can restore a JSON backup under Export and Backup in Settings. Import happens on your iPhone. Your Daily Review limits file size and checks the file structure and dates before writing anything. Import diagnostics record counts only, never journal text.
Your Daily Review uses a custom link format (dailyreview://) so the Home Screen widget and supported external links can open a specific screen. These links never place journal text in the URL.
When you open a Spotlight result or reminder, Your Daily Review uses a date, question ID, or review period to choose the screen. It does not read journal text, drafts, or private answers to choose where to go.
Search on Your iPhone
Your Daily Review may add limited review metadata to Apple Core Spotlight so you can search from the iPhone Home Screen. This may include review completion status, word count, mood, and the bundled question, category, or status for a question you pinned or answered. It does not index journal text, private answers, or private next actions. The index stays on your iPhone and can be disabled in iOS Settings.
Notifications
If you enable them, Morning Review, Midday Check-In, and Evening Reflection reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. They do not pass through our servers. Lock Screen reminders may use bundled practice questions, but never journal entries, private answers, or next actions.
Home Screen Widget
The optional Today’s Question widget shows a bundled practice question and category. It does not display journal text, private answers, or next actions.
Siri and App Shortcuts
Your Daily Review offers optional Siri phrases and App Shortcuts. When you ask Siri about today's practice or question, the response may include a bundled practice question and a simple completion status. It never includes journal text, private answers, or next actions.
In-Progress Drafts
If you start a Morning Review, Midday Check-In, or Evening Reflection and close it before saving, partial text is stored in a protected local file as an in-progress draft. A draft can continue into the next day and remains on your iPhone until you save the review or choose Delete All Data in Settings. Draft text is never included in Copy Support Info, Siri responses, the Home Screen widget, Lock Screen reminders, or another background feature.
Exercises, Captures, and Custom Prompts
Guided exercise responses, quick moment captures, pause reflections, question-practice answers, and Full Practice custom prompts are stored in protected local files on your iPhone. They remain there unless you remove them with an available in-app control or choose Delete All Data in Settings. Exporting or sharing creates a copy and does not remove the local original. This content is never included in Copy Support Info, Siri responses, the Home Screen widget, Lock Screen reminders, Spotlight search, or another background feature.
Third-Party Services
Apple's StoreKit processes the Full Practice purchase. Your Daily Review does not use third-party analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking services. Apple may provide app diagnostics to developers under your Apple device and App Store settings.
Children's Privacy
Your Daily Review is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we hold information about a child, contact us.
Your Privacy Rights (GDPR and CCPA)
Journal content is stored on your iPhone, so we do not receive or control it. You can use the available backup and export options, or remove local data by deleting Your Daily Review. For an access or deletion request about information we do hold, such as a support email, contact us below.
Data Retention
We do not retain journal entries. They remain on your iPhone until you delete them or delete Your Daily Review. An Apple device backup may preserve app data according to your settings.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and describe the change.
