Privacy Policy

Your Daily Review is a personal recovery practice tool built by Erik Neilson. Your privacy matters deeply — especially in the context of recovery. This policy explains what we collect (very little) and what we don't (almost everything).

The App (Your Daily Review PWA)

When you use the Your Daily Review app — whether installed on your home screen or accessed at /app — all of your data stays on your device.

• Your reviews, reflections, inventory entries, streaks, and badges are stored in your browser's localStorage.
• Nothing is sent to a server. There is no database. There is no account.
• We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting inside the app.
• We do not collect, transmit, or store your journal content. Ever.
• If you clear your browser data, your reviews are gone. We cannot recover them because we never had them.

Push Notifications

The app may request permission to send push notifications for review reminders. These notifications are scheduled locally on your device using the browser's notification API. No notification data is sent to or processed by any server. You can disable notifications at any time in your device or browser settings.

Share Feature

The app includes a native share button that uses your device's built-in sharing capabilities (Web Share API). When you share, the content goes directly to the app you choose — we are not involved and do not see what you share or with whom.

The Marketing Website (dailyreview.app)

The landing page at dailyreview.app uses the following third-party services:

• Vercel Analytics — collects anonymous, aggregated page view data (no cookies, no personal identifiers).
• Vercel Speed Insights — collects anonymous Core Web Vitals performance metrics.

These tools do not track individual users, do not use cookies, and do not collect personal information. They help us understand how many people visit the site and whether it loads quickly.

Email Collection

If you sign up for our newsletter or submit your email through a notification or contact form, we collect your email address. We use it only to send you updates about Your Daily Review. We do not sell, share, or rent your email to anyone. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link in any email we send.

Payments

The app offers an optional one-time purchase ($4.99) that unlocks premium features such as full review history and weekly insights. This is a commercial transaction for digital features — it is not a charitable donation and is not tax-deductible.

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. When you make a purchase, Stripe collects your payment card information, name, and email. We do not store your credit card number. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of your payment information.

For Users in the European Union (GDPR)

Legal Basis for Processing: Where we process personal data (email addresses for newsletter signup), our legal basis is your consent. For anonymous analytics on the marketing website, our legal basis is legitimate interest in understanding site performance.

Your Rights: Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Rectify inaccurate data
• Erase your data (right to be forgotten)
• Restrict or object to processing
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time

Since the app stores all data locally on your device, you can exercise your right to erasure at any time by clearing your data in Settings > Clear All Data. For email-related requests, contact support@dailyreview.app and we will respond within 30 days.

For California Residents (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect and why
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of the sale of personal information

We do not sell personal information. The only personal information we may hold is your email address if you voluntarily provided it. To make a request, contact support@dailyreview.app.

Children's Privacy

Your Daily Review is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. For significant changes, we will post a notice on the landing page.
